The Author (Left)

ABOUT.

With one foot in science and another in imagination, my aim is to marry the two and muddy the waters between them.

I am Max Todd, author, science communicator, and feared creature of the night (aspiring). My fiction writing was published in the Meridian Creative Arts Journal and won the Robert Manford Tobin, Jr. Scholarship in 2022, and the Dick Shahan CU Boulder Undergraduate Writing Competition in 2021. My prize-winning nonfiction writing was published in CU’s Occasions in 2020.

In addition to writing, my illustration and video production work was featured on SciAll.org’s Cabinet of Curiosities series, as well as in events for GAMES (Girls At the Museum Exploring). In my own time, I write weekly song reviews, short fiction, and poetry on my blog, and give exhaustive tours on local dinosaurs at the Morrison Natural History Museum.

As a graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder with a Bachelor’s of Science in Evolutionary Biology & Ecology and a minor in Creative Writing, I currently still live in Boulder with a sombrero-wearing monkey skull to keep me company.
